Our Story from Mobile Repair to a New Boat Dealership
The Ole 1500 Silverado!
Those of you who have been using Milicia Marine from the beginning probably remember my old black 1500 Silverado, with a red craftsman toolbox and a small harbor freight crane in the back. I started this business in 2017 servicing boats at your homes and slips. I did everything I could with the arsenal I had at my disposal to start this business. The goal was to get through college and be a Mechanical Engineer. About a year into starting my business, it took off in a way I never thought was possible. I found myself on the road before sunrise in the morning and often not getting home until long after sunset. I was servicing boats in Denver, Pueblo, Woodland Park, north of Divide, Limon and more! It was incredibly humbling and some of the most fun I had starting the business while growing it everyday!
Our First Shop
About two years into Milicia Marine, Colorado Springs Code Enforcement motivated me to move the business into a physical shop. I started to service boats out of my one car garage as the business had grown, which made for a lovely display of boats for my neighbors! After a year, I continued to grow the business. I signed a lease on a shop in central Colorado Springs and hired some really good folks to help me start a new journey. I found myself beyond blessed with the support of family and friends who helped me down this path. That shop was the coldest place in Colorado as far as we were concerned, water leaked into the front lobby when we would test boats, and the heaters worked only when they were in the mood to! We made the best of every day though! I couldn't be more grateful for the opportunities provided to us and of course the customers who trusted us with their equipment!
Our First Of Many Christmas Parties
With a new shop and new staff, I was feeling blessed with opportunity and wanted to show my appreciation. Our first Christmas Party was a little bit of guesswork, but we cleaned out the shop, set-up the grill, invited some friends who helped along the way, and had a party! Looking back I'd have to say this was the point I felt we were a true business. We were growing in size, in services we could provide, had a true shop to operate out of, and employees who loved the industry as well as enjoyed working on the challenging projects coming through our doors.
Moving The Business!
In 2021 I was blessed with an opportunity to move the business to Fountain. Although Colorado Springs made up the bulk of our customers, the new location is minutes off of I-25, has a large shop area and beautiful front end. Shop space and front end space offered good separation, meaning no more walking around in water as we check in customer's boats! We also now have a large parts room and setup space for a customer waiting area! I jumped at the opportunity to get us into this location to provide better service for you, our customers.
Growing Our Provided Services
Since we have been at this location we have grown in the services we provide. We have become a MinnKota, Garmin, Power-Pole and Yamaha service and warranty center.
Moving Forward With New G3 Boat Sales!
After 5 years in business, we are proud to offer new boat sales starting in 2024! Our sales floor is made up of G3 Boats and Suncatcher Pontoons, all powered by the most reliable outboard on the market, Yamaha Four Stroke Outboards.
